Work with Perks #2 - Airbnb, Starbucks, EventBrite

Happy hump day! Welcome to those that recently subscribed.

What is Work with Perks?

This is a fun side project highlighting workplaces with cool perks. Once a week, we’ll send an email highlighting 2-3 companies with extraordinary perks. It’ll take you less than 3 minutes to read.

Let’s go get it!

Airbnb

This company has too many perks

Travel Credits Employees receive US$2000 annually to spend on Airbnb listings. As an ex-pat living in the UK, this is a dream.

Parental and Family Leave Not only does Airbnb have 10 weeks of paid parental leave, but it also has 12 weeks of a phased return where parents work 80% while receiving full pay. From the outside looking in, this is a global policy.

Comprehensive Health Care Plans Employees are fully covered and their dependents are covered by up to 70%.

Paid Volunteer Leave For those looking to volunteer, Airbnb offers paid volunteer leave. I’m a huge fan of more companies offering this perk. It’s great for 1) employee well-being and development and 2) non-profit organisations receive top talent to improve their operations.

Starbucks

Is there a better way to begin the day?

Tuition Reimbursement For US employees studying an online Arizona State University bachelor's degree, Starbucks will cover 100% of tuition fees.

Family Expansion Reimbursement Up to $10,000 per adoption, surrogacy or intrauterine insemination.

Free Drinks, Coffee Beans, Dry Cleaning and Daycare Dry cleaning and daycare are available to those working in the Support Centre.

Eventbrite

What does the company do? A platform connecting event-goers with event organisers. Events can be in-person or online. The company’s benefits are rated 4.3/5 on Glassdoor.

Highlighted perks

Britebreaks Employees get the first Friday of every month off.

Unlimited Leave I’m curious about the average number of days employees take. I suspect it’s slightly above the national average.

Full access to health insurance Multiple options for employees and families that have a $0 premium or are very affordable.

Free Therapy sessions with a psychologist This is highly unusual but speaks to Eventbrite’s focus on employee mental well-being.

Until next time!

If you have any company perk you want to highlight, email me and I’ll put it in my future newsletters. I’m looking for relatively unknown companies that have awesome perks.
